‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Tuesday August 23: Adam Asks Nick to Be Father to Connor – Victor’s Confession Stuns Nikki – Dylan Hopes to Find Bethany

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Tuesday, August 23, tease that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will panic over Adam’s (Justin Hartley) plea. In the courtroom, Chelsea stands up to protest. The judge says Chelsea should sit down, but he has to remind her again when Adam won’t change his mind.

Adam learns he’ll be sentenced tomorrow and he’s led away. Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) discuss Adam’s decision. Kevin thinks Adam must feel like he should be punished. Nick (Joshua Morrow) finds Victor (Eric Braeden) outside and rips into him. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) rushes to Victor’s defense, but Nick insists all of this is Victor’s fault.

Victor walks over to Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and berates him for letting this happen. Chelsea is furious that Victor would dare to place blame on anyone other than himself. Victor assures Chelsea that he’s going to do everything he can to help Adam. He calls Leslie (Angell Conwell) and tries to get this mess sorted out.

Victor tells Nikki he isn’t worried about Nick’s accusations. He just wants to get rid of Michael and get Adam a competent attorney. Meanwhile, Nick heads over to see Adam at the state pen. Adam surprises Nick by asking him to be a father to Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). Nick suggests Connor can still come see his dad in prison, but Adam doesn’t want that for his son.

Nick is curious why Adam didn’t turn to Jack (Peter Bergman). Adam replies that he wants Connor to be raised by a Newman. Nick can handle Victor and teach Connor how to be a better man. Adam hints that they both would’ve wanted that for Christian if he’d survived.

Nick thinks it’s odd that Adam mentioned Christian, but Adam brushes it off. He says he’s just talking to Nick as a father. They both get emotional and Nick suggests that he’d be honored to be a father figure in Connor’s life. Y&R rumors indicate that Adam’s request could lead to some unanticipated consequences.

After Nick leaves, Michael shows up and Adam informs him that he’s fired. At the hospital, Stitch (Sean Carrigan) tells Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Dylan (Steve Burton) that the guard is on life support. He’s in a coma and is starting to get worse. They all gripe about Adam being sent to prison for something he didn’t do. It’s terrible that it led to this.

A text comes in and Abby gets the news that Adam pled guilty. It could be upped to a murder charge if the guard dies. Stitch walks off for a moment and Abby chats with Dylan. He just wishes he’d found the journal entries sooner. Dylan could’ve given Adam updates and avoided this disaster. Abby questions Dylan about his accusations against Victor.

After Dylan heads out, Stitch comes back over to Abby. He supports Dylan’s belief that Victor set Adam up. Abby goes to Newman Enterprises to see what Victor has to say about it. He assures Abby that he’s trying to help Adam. Nikki speaks with Abby as she’s leaving. Abby asks if Nikki believes Victor and she says she does. Nikki wants the Newman family to stick together and get through this.

A short time later, Nikki returns to Victor and wants the truth. Victor admits that we all make mistakes sometimes. Nikki gasps that Victor framed his own son for murder. She mulls it over and suggests that Victor will make this right. Victor embraces Nikki and promises that he’ll take care of it.

Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Chelsea will start to crumble. At the penthouse, Chelsea rants about the person who framed Adam. Chloe mentions that maybe Adam feels like he should be punished. Chelsea wonders if Chloe means because of Delia (Sophie Pollono).

As Chelsea fumes about the situation, Nick shows up. He tells her about his meeting with Adam. Chloe tries to console Chelsea and helps her upstairs. Nick stays with Connor and promises him that everything is going to be OK.
At the police station, Dylan speaks with Kevin about the case. He still wants to find Bethany (Chrishell Stause). She’s their last hope if they want to help Adam through this nightmare. Kevin fears Nikki will be devastated if Victor goes down for this. Stick with the CBS soap for see what the future holds.
