‘Stabby’ is one of the newer power couples on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Stitch (Sean Carrigan), aka Ben Rayburn, and his wife, Abby (Melissa Ordway) didn’t exactly hit it off when they first met. But, eventually they fell in love and were married. However, serious problems with Max (Jared Breeze), Ben’s son, injected chaos into the newlywed’s relationship. Regrettably, resulting relationship issues haven’t been resolved yet.

Some people marry for money, or an upgrade in social status. Others settle, simply to have a companion to be with on this earth. But, ‘Stabby’ overcame many issues, including Abby thinking ‘Stitch’ had murdered his father, to achieve their mutual feelings for each other. Yes, Ben initially had feelings for Ashley (Eileen Davidson), which was a problem because she’s Abby’s mom. However, ‘Stashley’ was never more than just casual. So, this cute couple meshed eventually and were expecting a baby before a plot caused that poor soul to die on ‘The Young and the Restless’.
Max was ordered to receive treatment at a mental health facility as a result of his accomplished plan, which saw Abby fall down the stairs at the Genoa City Athletic Club and lose what would have been ‘Stabby’s’ first child. Incredibly, all of Max’s actions were spurned by a brain tumor. That scientific explanation at least offered solace that he wasn’t evil, but also meant that Ben would be separated from his son again.
Ben has needed time to cope with everything that’s happened. He recently was open with Abby about not rushing into having another baby too soon. Naturally, that’s made her uncertain of his feelings, or their long-term future on ‘The Young and the Restless’.
Since this couple doesn’t have a deep history, it’s reasonable to think that they might not survive to see their first anniversary on New Year’s Eve this year. Viewers know that the future introduction of another love interest, for either character, could signal the death blow for this duo. In lieu of that, there’s still hope for ‘Stabby’ fans.
