‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick and Chelsea Remain Guarded – Chick Momentarily Restrained

Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) are taking things slowly on ‘The Young and the Restless’. They both recently suffered the loss of a spouse, but are linked by family ties. As of now, no relationship developments are in the works. So, ‘Chick’ has momentarily been restrained from flying.

Super couple is an alternative way of saying power couple, or simply, a couple. With whatever cheeky reference one likes best, the likelihood of these two characters growing closer in coming months remains palpable. It’s natural for two people who are still grieving to not instantly be ready to begin a new romantic relationship. Instead, they are attempting to regain a balanced footing and move forward with their lives. Nick and Chelsea will heal as they spend time with each other and their children.

As dedicated viewers recall, Adam (formerly played by Justin Hartley) asked Nick to watch out for his son Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). At the time Adam believed that he would be staying in prison for up to 30 years for the claimed murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). The frame Victor (Eric Braeden) hung around his son’s neck was so tight that the odds of remaining behind bars indefinitely seemed unbeatable.

The referenced scenes between Hartley and Morrow were terrific. Both actors delivered genuinely believable emotion that projected two brothers actually bonding. Having been adversaries to that point, Y&R devotees surely felt that the unusual nature of Adam’s request and Nick’s willing acceptance telegraphed a major change in the story.

Adam’s death (or perceived death) caused Nick’s promise to be realized in a far different manner than expected. That storyline vehicle now allows the characters Morrow and Egan play to cross each other’s paths regularly. And, with that their friendship should deepen. What flows beyond the current boundaries they created will be determined by executive producer Mal Young and new head writer Sally Sussman, among others on Y&R’s staff.
