Victor (Eric Braeden) thought that he was using Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) as a pawn on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While she initially helped him to frame Adam (Justin Hartley) for murder, Victor’s deeper plan was upended when Chloe went rogue. Add to that Bella’s (Cali May Kinder) untold existence, which will dramatically affect Billy’s (Jason Thompson), or Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart), life when either man learns that he has a child. Yes, this misguided soul has continued to impact many lives in Genoa City since her return.
Chloe isn’t acting wisely. But, has Hendrickson’s character ever done so consistently during her tenure on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Allowing herself to be recruited by Victor was somewhat understandable. He wanted to gain leverage over Adam by framing him, which naturally offered specific appeal to Delia’s (Sophie Pollono) mother. And, Victor needed a motivated surrogate on the outside because he was stuck in prison.
Crossing the ‘Mustache’ is rarely, if ever, smart. Because Chloe chose not to leave Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) missing journal pages where the police could find them, as Victor requested, Adam was subsequently convicted of second-degree murder and went to prison. Adam understandably blames his father for seemingly reneging on a deal they made that was supposed to clear his name. That unwanted outcome turns Chloe into Victor’s target, which is a position she should never have put herself into, especially considering Victor’s threat to potentially take Bella away from her.

Plus, Chloe opted to wear a short-haired wig and visit the courthouse on the day that Adam’s plea deal was heard. She simply couldn’t restrain herself from seeing Adam’s face in the lobby outside the courtroom just after he was sentenced to 30 years behind bars. Chloe’s latest in a series of reckless acts on ‘The Young and the Restless’ highlights her still-unbalanced state of mind.
In addition to the gravity of everything that’s been detailed, Chloe also hasn’t informed Bella’s father that his daughter was born. Of course, she may not have even considered that Kevin has a biological connection to her second child. But, that’s Chloe and this is classic daytime drama.
