‘The Young And The Restless’ Speculation: Could Dr. Anderson’s Schemes Bring Nick And Sharon Back Together?

Fallout from Dr. Anderson’s vindictive machinations on The Young and the Restless has begun. There’s an old saying in chaos, the theory is that a butterfly flapping its wings in Japan could cause a hurricane in Brazil, eventually. What could a baby-switch, over-drugging people, and being murdered cause for the citizens of Genoa City, particularly Sharon and Nick, two among the many who stand to be affected by Dr. Anderson’s revenge plot, one that was extreme even for a soap villainess?

When baby Sullivan is revealed not to have been birthed by Sharon, but as Christian, the baby born by Sage over whom she entered a personal hell upon believing she lost, thanks to Dr. Anderson, it will no doubt destroy Sharon. Could it trigger a depressive episode in the bi-polar illness Sharon has been struggling with for years? Will Sage then feel some sort of undeserved, but understandable guilt? What will happen to Sharon and Dylan when they find out they don’t have a baby together? Will their marriage be strong enough to survive that shocking and potentially permanently damaging truth?

These kinds of incidents and their fallout have a way on soaps of bringing people closer or tearing them apart. And it’s doubtful that fans of ex-super-couple Sharon and Nick are not hoping that it will bring those two back together. Sharon and Nick fans have a fervent love for their beloved ex-super-couple and have never given up on them, with Facebook profiles, Twitter accounts, and hashtags dedicated to them. We have to wonder if they are hoping for a Nick/Sharon reunion, especially when Nick finds out Christian isn’t even his baby with Sage, but Adam’s. A one-night-stand with a resultant baby never bodes well for a couple, especially one that has seen so many rocky times, like Nick and Sage.

Will Nick turn to his oldest, truest love, Sharon for comfort and to comfort her? Or will Sharon be too distraught to accept any kind of romance, even if it comes from the caring, gentle Nick, her high school sweetheart?  As Nick and Sharon try to make sense of Dr. Anderson’s vendetta, could the trip down Memory Lane reignite old feelings?
