‘The Young and The Restless’ POLL: Should Victor Newman Be Released From Prison? VOTE!

Some choose toVictor Newman (Eric Braeden) as a bad guy on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Others understand why he does whatever is necessary to defend family and business interests. But, whatever one thinks, this infamous man is scheduled to be sent back to Walworth as soon as his Ian Ward (Ray Wise) inflicted bullet wound has been fully stabilized. Can Victor’s defenders logically argue that he should be released from prison instead?

Surely this question is a matter of when Victor will be released, not if. Deep devotees of ‘The Young and the Restless’ can’t imagine the lead male actor on the top network daytime drama indefinitely portraying his character inside a cell. So, the choices readers select in this poll will partially serve to reveal elements within their souls, rather than pure commentary about a fictional character’s actions.

Just a few months ago Victor blamed his family for testifying against him when he stood trial for kidnapping and fraud. Amoral beings often, if not always, claim to have committed no wrongs. That’s why they regularly argue that free will is an illusion and evil isn’t real. There’s always some outside factor that necessitates a justified reaction, in their minds. But, Victor was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail. So, that seemed to indicate his philosophy of life had failed.

Last year, Victor came upon the knowledge that his fiercest foe, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), had a doppelganger residing in a Peruvian jail. ‘The Mustache’ went to see Marco Anaselli (also played by Peter Bergman) on his own accord and orchestrated his release. Victor had Jack abducted, while simultaneously facilitating Marco’s insertion in his place. Victor believed that Jack was once again trying to topple Newman Enterprises and therefore rationalized all of his reactions.

But, multiple crimes were committed along the way. How was it that Victor’s family was involved? Of course they weren’t, as honest fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ would admit to under oath. Yes, it’s true that the rehashing seen above intentionally omits information in defense of Victor’s cause. Purposely mimicking Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) before him, this scribe rests his case, while also allowing all readers to offer their valued input inside this digital space.

What do fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ think? Should Victor be released from prison? Vote in our poll below!
