‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Steve Burton Reveals Post Y&R Plans – Online Coaching Business Launched

yr-steve-burton-hollywood-schooled'The Young and the Restless' News: Steve Burton Reveals Post Y&R Plans - Online Coaching Business Launched Steve Burton announced that he was leaving the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’ in October. He recently advised that he was completing his final few days of filming on the show. Then he announced a new business venture via his Twitter account that provides insight into his post-Y&R plans.

Burton and fellow ‘General Hospital’ alum Derk Cheetwood have co-founded Hollywood Schooled. The new venture offers audio coaching lessons to individuals who want to become working Hollywood actors.

Free downloadable lessons, which include Burton and Cheetwood’s digital recounts of their professional journeys, along with, “…strategic Hollywood resources…” are available to anyone who submits a first name and primary email account via the website.

Burton went live on his Facebook page to promote the new business as well. He took viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of The Young and the Restless studios and his dressing room. He also engaged in a real time question and answer session with fans. Burton advised that Cheetwood was teaching him how to use social media, including Facebook Live.

As for the character he’s played since 2013, Dylan recently learned that Sully (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) never existed and was actually Christian all along. Surprisingly, Mr. McAvoy didn’t leave Sharon (Sharon Case). But did this fictional character make that choice because of Burton’s real life career decision?

Considering the knowledge fans have of Burton’s departure, it seems logical to believe that Y&R is allowing ‘Shylan’ to play out in style. Surely someone of this actor’s stature and good standing with the show will likely be given a classy sendoff as well. Whether the end of Burton’s run includes a dramatic conclusion for the Dylan character isn’t yet known.

Burton’s choice of post-Genoa City pursuits doesn’t fit typical Hollywood actor endeavors. So it will be interesting to see how he and Cheetwood build their internet-based business. The success both men achieved in the industry allows them to take a risk of this nature. Interactive fan outreach was a savvy way to promote the launch of Hollywood Schooled.
