‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Alyvia Alyn Lind To Play Dolly Parton Again In ‘Christmas of Many Colors: Circle Of Love’

‘The Young and the Restless’ Alyvia Alyn Lind [Faith Newman] will return as a young Dolly Parton in ‘Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.’ The sequel to the NBC made-for-television biopic will follow the next chapter in Dolly’s childhood.

The announcement was made on the Grand Ole Opry member’s website Wednesday, May 11. The press release reads, “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” is the next chapter in the life of young Dolly Parton. The film delivers Christmas joy and peril as an unexpected blizzard threatens the Parton family.”

Alyvia Alyn Lind won a Grace Award for her portrayal of Dolly in ‘Coat of Many Colors.’ The Grace Award is given to an actress or actor in a motion picture or television who exemplifies God’s grace and mercy toward us as human beings through their outstanding performance.

It’s no wonder Alyvia, who is best known for her role on ‘Y&R’ as the daughter of Sharon Newman [Sharon Case] and Nick Newman [Joshua Morrow], would return in the sequel.

NBC announced that the entire original cast will return for the second movie. The actor’s include Jennifer Nettles [Avie Lee Parton], Ricky Schroder [Robert Lee Parton], and Gerald McRaney [Rev. Jake Owens]. Stephen Herek will return as the director for the made-for-television movie.

In a statement on her website Dolly said, “I was so overwhelmed and touched by how many people watched ‘Coat of Many Colors’ and their reaction to it,” Parton said. “The song ‘Coat of Many Colors,’ of course has always been my favorite and has touched so many people through the years, especially me. It is a true story from a very special time in my childhood. I am so happy to share this story with the viewers and to say there is so much more to tell because mine truly has been a life of many colors. I hope the viewers will fall in love all over again.”

Additional cast members as well as the premiere date will be announced sometime in the coming months.
