‘The Young and The Restless’ News: Y&R Alum Chris McKenna Lands Role On ‘Mom’

Chris McKenna who once played Detective Mark Harding on “The Young and the Restless” made an announcement on twitter that he is going to be appearing on the CBS sitcom Mom. He tweeted “My home for the week,” along with a picture of him holding a script for Mom in front of the water tower on the Warner Bros lot.

According to CBS Soaps In Depth magazine “Details on his role have not yet been revealed, but as soon as we have more information – especially on air date so you know when to tune in – we’ll be sure to let you know!”

The sitcom Mom is about a single mom named Christy who has her hands full with two children and maintaining a newfound sobriety. Christy tries to navigate her dysfunctional relationships with romantic interests. So maybe Chris is coming on as one of those romantic interests.

Chris McKenna portrayed the part of Detective Harding on “The Young and the Restless.” A lot of fans were upset when it was revealed that he was working with Marco Annicelli (Peter Bergman) who had ordered him to do his dirty work. Detective Harding was a very liked character until his involvement with Annicelli came to light. Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) was on to Harding the whole time and made it his mission to figure out his involvement.

Y&R’s ex-Detective Harding (Chris McKenna) took the life of Austin Travers (Matthew Atkinson) Courtney Sloan (Kelli Goss) and Tobias Grey ( Jeffrey Christopher Todd). Later Detective Harding was killed off the show as well. Do you miss any of these characters? Would you like for any of these characters to be brought back from the dead and return on Y&R?

Chris McKenna went on to play on “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Katie’s therapist Dr. Hayden. We only saw him very briefly .
