‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Shemar Moore Leaves ‘Criminal Minds’ After 11 Seasons

According to a report from Soaps.com, ex Y&R star Shemar Moore is leaving ‘Criminal Minds.’ Moore played the role of Malcolm Winters on ‘The Young and the Restless’ on and off from 1994 – 2005, with his most recent appearance on the CBS soap opera being in 2014.

Many viewers were stunned yesterday when it was revealed that Shemar Moore made his last appearance as Derek Morgan on Wednesday’s episode of ‘Criminal Minds.’ Moore took to Twitter sharing “TONIGHT…I GIVE YOU MY HEART … Shemar”

Moore has been with Criminal Minds practically for its entire run and after doing 11 seasons, he made a decision to leave the show. In the show his character Derek Morgan was said to be leaving to focus on his wife Savannah, who is pregnant with child and was almost shot as a result of him going after those who had captured and tortured him.

Moore’s reason for leaving the show after so long is in hopes to acquire different opportunities in his acting career. These opportunities he hopes “will allow him to stretch his wings.”
