'The Bold and The Beautiful' News: Happy 29th Anniversary "B&B"

Congratulations to ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ which was originally created by William J. Bell, who is celebrating its 29th anniversary today. The show which is now run by successor Bradley Bell since 1996 has been very successful over the years. Throughout the years we have seen several shows come and go but we are still able to watch the Foresters on our favorite soap.

It was in 1987 on March 23 when B&B debut on the CBS network. The show has done excellent over the years, maintaining the second place rating for daytime dramas in the Nielsen Ratings and achieving 31 Daytime Emmy Award wins. And also winning three times in the Outstanding Drama Series category, the show is a major success.

Also celebrating the same anniversary with the show are the longest running cast; members Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and John McCook (Eric). Lang and McCook stuck with the show for its entire run. Other notable original cast members who were with the show for an extended period are Susan Flannery who played Stephanie, the Forrester matriarch, Darlene Conley (Sally) now deceased, Hunter Archilla (Taylor) and Ronn Moss (Ex-Ridge).

The show was originally based upon rivalry between two fashion houses namely Forrester Creations and Spectra Fashions. Starting with minimal minutes before moving to a 30 minute episode, the show has increased in the number of viewers. Having done over 7000 episodes to date, the show had many notable and outstanding crossovers from its sister soap ‘The Young and the Restless’. Shot in Los Angeles California, we watched this show go through some great transitions, changing its opening theme and theme song several times. We have also seen the show venture out to top locations for on location filming.

Congratulations once again B&B for achieving such a major milestone.
