Alan Thicke died at the age of 69 from a heart attack. Best known for his role as Dr. Jason Seaver for seven seasons on the ABC comedy ‘Growing Pains,’ Thicke had a recurring role on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ as Rich Ginger from 2006 through 2009.
The actor suffered a heart attack while enjoying a game of hockey with his youngest son Carter Thicke. Alan Thicke is survived by his wife Tanya and two other sons, Brennan Thicke and singer Robin Thicke.

Ex-wife Gloria Loring who starred on ‘Days of Our Lives’ as Liz Chandler, paid tribute to the man to whom she was married from 1970 until 1984. Loring shared on Facebook, “Thank you for your kindness concerning Alan Thicke’s passing. It is a shock. We were all just together for Thanksgiving. He was talented, funny and deeply devoted to his family. Rest In Peace, dear one.”
Many from the world of daytime paid tribute to Alan Thicke on Twitter. Former ‘The Young and the Restless’ star Justin Hartley [Adam Newman] shared a photo of the two actors together on the set of ‘This is Us.’
Justin wrote, “When you meet one of your idols and they are even nicer and cooler than you hoped they would be. That was @Alan_Thicke. Rest in peace.”
‘General Hospital’ star Dominic Zamprogna [Dante Falconeri] expressed his sorrow as well. “RIP Alan Thicke. I got to play his son in my second acting job as a kid. He was a great guy and a true talent.”

Carter Thicke, Alan’s youngest son, paid tribute to his dad, writing, “Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of it’s finest. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time.”
In addition to his roles on ‘Growing Pains’ and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ the actor hosted ‘The Alan Thicke Show’ from 1980 to 1982, ‘Thicke of the Night’ from 1983 to 1984. Thicke’s most recently appeared as himself on ‘This is Us,’ ‘The Eric Andrew Show’ and the Netflix original series ‘Fuller House.’
