Soap Opera Weekly Ratings February 22-26: ‘GH’ Ratings Up – ‘DOOL’ And ‘Y&R’ Still Losing Viewers – ‘B&B’ Ratings Down This Week

The soap opera weekly ratings for February 22 through February 26 show “General Hospital” ratings up, but “Days of Our Lives” and “Young and the Restless” continue to lose viewers. Ratings for “Bold and the Beautiful” are down also according to Soap Opera Network.

Days of Our Lives

The daytime drama lost overall viewers and in the women 18-49 demographic for a third week in a row. 2,353,000 tuned in to watch “DOOL” – a loss in total viewership of 81,000 for the week. For week ending February 19 “DAYS” lost 77,000 total viewers and 56,000 for the week ending February 12. In the most important demographic of women 18-49 “Days of Our Lives” numbers were down for the third week in a row, losing 6,000 viewers for the week ending February 26.

General Hospital

Soap Opera Network reports an overall gain of 26,000 viewers for the week of February 22 through February 26 – 2,968,000 tuned into to watch ABC’s lone soap opera. This comes after losing 82,000 over all viewers the prior week. However, only 495,000 women 18-49 count toward the total viewership. That means a loss of 27,000 viewers in that demographic. “GH” ratings in this category have been up and down over the past three weeks.

“The Bold and the Beautiful”
Last week saw “B&B” regain 57,000 viewers after a loss the previous week. It appears that the CBS daytime drama is all over the place when it comes to ratings. For the week of February 22 through February 26 the soap opera had 3,766,000 overall total viewers, a loss of 29,000 from the previous week. A loss of 29,000 viewers is shown in the women 18-49 demographic.

“The Young and the Restless”

For the week of February 22 through February 26 Soap Opera Network reports that the #1 soap opera had a total of 4,967,000 viewers. This represents a loss of 21,000 viewers, which is the exact same amount “Y&R” lost for the week of February 12 through February 19. A total of 15,000 women ages 18 t0 49 tuned “The Young and the Restless” out last week.

“General Hospital” had a good week for overall viewership with its gain of 26,000 viewers. It’s uncertain why “Days of Our Lives,” “The Bold and The Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” all saw declines in total households watching.

The daytime dramas have been losing viewers in the most important women 18 to 49 demographic. All four soap operas saw decreases in this category for the week of February 22 through February 26.
