Soap Opera Weekly Ratings April 11-15: ‘GH’ And ‘B&B’ Show Big Ratings Jump, ‘Y&R’ And ‘DOOL’ Lose Total Viewers

The soap opera weekly ratings for April 11 – April 15 show ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ gained viewers across the board as did ‘General Hospital.’ Total viewership was down for ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ but both daytime dramas won back women viewers age 18-49.

Days of Our Lives

Soap Opera Network reports that 2,238,000 viewers were watching ‘DAYS’ between April 11 and April 15. This represents a loss of 20,000 total viewers. However, 414,000 women ages 18-49 tuned in. This is a gain of 12,000 viewers in this demographic.

General Hospital

After weeks of declining ratings in all categories ‘GH’ came back strong, especially with women viewers ages 18-49. Between April 11 and April 15 2,816,000 total viewers were watching the lone ABC daytime drama. This represents an increase of 16,000 viewers for the week. In the women 18-49 demographic 504,000 tuned in. This represents a gain of 53,000 viewers in this category.

The Bold and the Beautiful

‘B&B’ had 3,951,000 total viewers watching April 11-15 Soap Opera Network reports. That’s a gain of 71,000 people. Not only did ‘B&B’ show an increase in total viewers, the CBS soap opera gained 39,000 viewers in the women ages 18 to 49 demographic with 554,000 watching last week.

The Young and the Restless

Still the number 1 soap opera, ‘Y&R’ is struggling to keep viewers as 124,000 tuned out last week leaving the daytime drama with 4,945,000 total viewers. The good news is that women viewers between the ages of 18-49 came back last week with 671,000 watching. This represents an increase of 12,000 in this demographic.

The week of April 11 through 15 was good for ‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’ Gains in both total viewers and the women to 18-49 demographic were what both daytime dramas needed.

‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ continue to struggle, though the balance shifted. In the previous week the two soaps had losses in both total viewers and women in the 18-49 demographic. For the week of April 11-15 ‘Y&R’ and ‘DOOL’ lost a significant number of total viewers, yet each gained back 12,000 women viewers between 18 and 49.
