Nashville Season 5 Spoilers: Country Music Star Rhiannon Giddens Joins CMT Cast – Details Here!

‘Nashville‘ Season 5 spoilers are finally starting to roll in now that CMT has begun filming the former ABC drama.  CMT recently revealed that the Season 5 premiere of ‘Nashville’ will air in January 2017.  Since the cable drama picked up ‘Nashville‘ after its ABC cancellation, they have made their first major casting announcement.  According to ‘Nashville‘ spoilers, Rhiannon Giddens has joined the Season 5 cast as Hanna Lee Jordan, AKA “Hallie.”

For those of you who are not familiar with Rhiannon Giddens, she is actually well respected in the country music community.  Giddens is a member of the Grammy-Award winning group, Carolina Chocolate Drops.  She also starred in a few primetime TV shows like “Parenthood” on NBC and “Nurse Jackie.”

‘Nashville Season 5 spoilers tease that so far Giddens’ character Hanna Lee Jordan is scheduled to appear in three episodes on CMT, however more could be added to that list in the future, and she is listed on a “recurring” basis.  According to The Hollywood Reporter’s spoilers, Hanna Lee is a “Social worker who turns out to have the voice of an angel.”

Last week the ‘Nashville’ cast and crew lit up social media with photos and tweets of their first table read, it’s so exciting to have our favorite actors back to work.  Sadly, news of Giddens’ casting is being a bit overshadowed by the shocking news that Connie Britton might be dropping out of the series, and her character Rayna may be exiting in Season 5 once the show premieres on CMT.
