‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: New Super Couple In The Works – Could Nikolas & Ava Be The Most Powerful Duo Ever?

Tuesday, July 19’s episode of ‘General Hospital’ concluded with Nikolas (Nick Stabile) falling out the window trying to save Ava (Maura West) from being shot by his illegitimate, and apparently alive, Uncle Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). Maybe Cassadines should really think twice before standing in front of windows and doors on higher levels of the house. Remember when Katherine Bell (Mary Beth Evans) was pushed off the parapet at Wyndemere Castle by Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers), disguised as Laura (Genie Francis), during the Bacchanalia Ball?

One has to wonder how quickly this relationship developed between Nikolas and Ava. It has only been mere weeks since she caught him sneaking out of town on the same plane as her, and she basically blackmailed him into helping her.  Once they were being held captive, there seemed to be a genuine connection between them, and although it happened quickly, it was quite a shock to see that Nikolas was willing to take a bullet for her.

We can safely assume that Nikolas is going to survive, and we can also speculate that those feelings he has for Ava will be reciprocated. What a power couple these two would be!! Nikolas, regardless of fortune, is a powerful man in Port Charles, especially in the business world. Ava, is a well-known art dealer around the world but has also had her hands in the mob business for decades, making her a powerful woman in her own right.

Right now, we cannot tell who needs this relationship more.  Nikolas is desperate, since dear old granny, Helena, left him with nothing. Ava is desperate to get out from under Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) thumb when it comes to custody of their little girl, Avery. Julian (William DeVry), is laying in a hospital bed and his condition seems to be getting worse, meaning Ava will need to step back into the mob ways.

Do you think with Nikolas’ backing, that Sonny will finally fall from being the most powerful mobster in Port Charles? It is entirely possible that Nikolas and Ava will reach the level of supercouple on General Hospital, along with CarSon and Julexis!!
