‘General Hospital’ POLL: Who Do You Think Is Paul’s Daughter? Hayden, Darby Or? VOTE!

‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate that the mystery of who is Paul Hornsby’s [Richard Burgi] daughter will be revealed soon, but two of the likeliest candidates – if his kid is already in Port Charles – are Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] and Darby Collette [Jesica Ahlberg].

Let’s consider the pros and cons of these two women as possible daughters of the dirty DA.

Age – Hayden is closer to the right age if GH showrunners stick to the timeline of Susan Hornsby. She was seven back in 1991 which means she should be about 33. Budig is older than that but is playing younger. Darby, however, looks to be in her early 20s which puts her off by a decade.

Background – Hayden has a past that we know a little about – she has a scandal that apparently made the news. Darby, however, is much more of a blank slate in that all we know about her is that she’s a local college student who seems to like to party.

Name – Hayden once went by the name “Rachel” so it would seem a little strange if she went from being Susan to Rachel to Hayden. Darby’s name is definitely not Susan, but “Darby” could be her mother’s maiden name or her middle name if she really is Susan.

Activities – Hayden came into town playing a con on Jake Doe, so she’s definitely shady and now is working with Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot] against her own hubby. Darby made a bee line for Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] which means she could be targeting the mob family.

Resemblance – Neither Hayden nor Darby looks shockingly like Paul, but neither do they look unlike him. In fact, they share similar attributes – slim build, dark hair. Budig is a bit shorter and has brown eyes while Darby has green eyes – while Paul is tall and blue eyed. But either could work.

Presence – Both Darby and Hayden seemed to show up in Port Charles out of nowhere and in close proximity to the time Paul appeared. Hayden was there first and Darby showed up later, but neither arrived just as he did.

Proximity – Neither Darby nor Hayden seems to have any interaction with Paul. This makes sense as Paul is supposedly estranged from his daughter. No doubt Susan knows who her dad is, but may be deliberately avoiding him even if they live in the same town.

Now Paul just told Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] a sob story about how he had to kill Kyle Sloane [Robb Derringer] because he beat and raped Susan. But that is likely a bold fiction. Sloane is not around to defend himself but let’s review this really quickly.

First, Sloane never seemed like a violent guy. Second, Paul told Anna that Carlos Rivera [Jeffrey Vincent Parise] witnessed him kill Sloane and was leveraging him. Both of those are lies – it was Paul controlling Carlos, not the other way.

Third, Paul told her that Sloane told him that he and Carlos set up Anna. That’s not true at all. Sloane told Paul that Anna had killed Carlos – and told him about the safety deposit box. Paul killed Sloane because he was a problem for him and Lomax.

If everything else Paul told Anna was a lie – all the stuff about Sloane – why would Paul be telling the truth about Sloane raping Susan? Paul may, in fact, not have seen his daughter since she was a kid and is just leveraging Anna’s sympathy to keep her from ratting him out – and it worked.

So really, nothing has changed – we are likely not looking for a woman who was beaten and raped and may now have a victim mentality. Because Paul was lying to Anna in a big way, it could clearly be either Hayden or Darby that’s his mystery daughter (or someone we don’t yet know about).
