‘General Hospital’ News: Shari Belafonte Returns To ‘GH’ As Mayor Janice Lomax

‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that the Mayor responsible for Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) trial, Mayor Janice Lomax will be getting busy again as the actress Shari Belafonte returns. The former primetime star will make her return to the canvas the week of March 14.

Upon her debut as the Mayor, she had scenes with LoCicero. Olivia and the Mayor met at the Metro Court to have a meeting to discuss matters relating to an upcoming luncheon. During the meeting, Olivia began breast-feeding her baby in the Mayor’s sight. Lomax took this as offensive and threatened Olivia to have her arrested for public indecency. Olivia did not take well to this threat and reacted aggressively which resulted in her being arrested for assault.

Lomax dropped the charges against Olivia after being threatened by Julian, she was fearful of bad publicity. Olivia hired Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as her lawyer; she filed a lawsuit on Olivia’s behalf for the mayor’s violation of Olivia’s right to breast-feed in public. Lomax tried her best to get this lawsuit removed by threatening Olivia’s son Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), she was not successful.

Though she only had a few scenes since her debut on the show last year, she is well known to primetime viewers. Belafonte appeared on a few primetime series and other shows namely; Square One TV, The Late Show, Beyond Reality, Sonic the Hedgehog, Hey Arnold, The District, Miami Medical, Nip/Tuck and so much more.
