‘General Hospital’ alum Sebastian Roché [Jerry Jacks] supports the SAFE Act [The Safeguard American Food Exports] and he is asking ‘GH’ fans, as well as others, to join the fight against horse slaughter. He has also been busy filming ‘The Young Pope’ and ‘The Man in the High Castle.’
The amendment would outlaw the slaughter of American horses for human consumption in the United States and abroad. Sebastian recently released a PSA as part of the Humane Society of the United States campaign to stop horse slaughter.

Sebastian, a horse enthusiast, appeals to ‘General Hospital’ fans, saying:
“It goes without saying that horse slaughter is abhorrent. And I think that it is up to our elected officials to pass the SAFE Act. It should be done. It should have been done a long time ago. We have too much food as it is. Why consume much? Why torture one of the most noble of animals? Someone that’s followed us for centuries and is still among us. It’s time to stop this barbaric practice. Pass the SAFE Act. Enough, no more horse slaughter. No more horse consumption. It’s a thing of the past, let’s move on, let’s be progressive.”

In addition to the PSA Sebastian also issued a statement,
Roché made the following statement: “Protecting horses from slaughter is a bipartisan, common sense issue that we can all support. Every aspect of horse slaughter is nothing but torture for these sensitive animals, and the majority of these horses are young, healthy animals who could have led productive lives with loving owners if they’d been given the chance. It is senseless to use the tax dollars of hardworking people to enable this cruel, unnecessary industry that serves no national interests whatsoever. We can do better than this. Please pass legislation to end horse slaughter and prevent horse slaughter plants from opening in the U.S. It’s time to ensure our horses get the protection they deserve.”
Not only is Sebastian working tirelessly to pass the SAFE Act he will star in the HBO miniseries ‘The Young Pope’ as Cardinal Michel Marivaux. ‘General Hospital’ fans will also find Sebastian in the second season of the Amazon original series ‘The Man in the High Castle’ as Reichsminister Martin Heusmann.
