‘General Hospital’ News: Rebecca Herbst Contract Negotiation Update – Actress Staying On ‘GH?’

‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that Rebecca Herbst might be staying on the ABC soap opera as Liz Webber after all.  Last month, Daytime Confidential revealed from their insiders that Herbst’s contract negotiations had hit a major snag and the actress was actually being courted by NBC’s soap opera ‘Days Of Our Lives.’

Rebecca Herbst never confirmed nor denied the news about her contract woes, however cryptic tweets from her husband seemed to confirm the news. A scandal erupted on the internet as ‘General Hospital‘ fans clamored and petitioned to save the ‘GH‘ actress.  Sure, her character Liz Webber had done some things to rub fans the wrong way – but Rebecca herself was playing the part perfectly and doing the best with the scripts she was given.

It looks like TPTB at ‘General Hospital’ heard fans’ outcries, and did whatever they had to do to ensure that Rebecca Herbst stuck around for a few more years.  According to Daytime Confidential, the actress’ new contract is all but signed – and the negotiations are finally finished.  The website is reporting, “I hear the brass at ABC had no choice but to pay attention to the groundswell of support for Herbst. Expect an official announcement soon. “

So ‘GH’ fans, it looks your support has once again paid off – and TPTB really do listen to what fans think and their concerns on social media.  Are you thrilled to hear that Rebecca Herbst’s contract negotiations are finally working out and the actress will be sticking around Port Charles?  Or are you going to wait for the official announcement before you start celebrating?  After all, anything could happen in Hollywood.
