‘General Hospital’ News: Maurice Benard Filming New Movie ‘Hold On’ – Details Here!

‘General Hospital’ Maurice Benard [Sonny Corinthos] is filming the movie ‘Hold On’ and shared photo from the movie set with ‘GH’ viewers. Maurice has been cast as Peter Duran in the film.
“On the set of the new movie I’m doing called ‘Hold On’ #holdon #holdonthemovie,” Maurice wrote on Instagram and Facebook. The pic shows Maurice sitting in a leather chair at a desk with shelves of books behind him. The actor is dressed in a white shirt with cuffs rolled up with loosened collar and black tie. From the lighting and angle of the photo it appears Maurice may have a touch of gray in his hair.

The production notes for ‘Hold On’ show that the information available was last updated on March 10, 2016. The drama, written and directed by Tarek Tohme, is scheduled for release in 2017. The synopsis of the movie reads, “Grappling with guilt over her brother’s issues with addiction, aspiring singer Sidney Rhodes struggles to balance her time and talents while working as a Music Director at a small Los Angeles church.”
‘Hold On’ also stars Luis Guzman [Jesse Sallander, Code Black] rap pioneer Flavor Flav and Sean Harmon, son of Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber [young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, NCIS].
While ‘General Hospital’ fans wait for filming of Maurice Benard’s new movie to wrap they can check out his performance as Joseph Hawthorne in ‘The Ghost and the Whale.’ The movie became available on digital HD and On Demand through other platforms on May 17, 2016.
‘GH’ fans never fear, Maurice Benard IS NOT leaving ‘General Hospital’! The actor is working on a few outside projects and expanding his horizons, flexing his acting chops. We can’t wait to see Maurice in ‘Hold On.’ It looks like a great movie.
