Residents of Salem, U.S.A.– Be on the lookout for the arrival of a new arch villain. The question on this reporter’s lips is: Will he be more diabolical than Stefano DiMera [Joe Mascolo] or will he be in cahoots with Andre DiMera [Thaao Penghlis), or out to make a name and reputation for himself? This new dark-haired Mediterranean arrives in Salem U.S.A. with payback on the brain. Could he be responsible for some heinous acts that have transpired in and around the Midwestern township.
This suave, debonair, and destructively handsome new crime lord (possibly?) will be played by long-time soap veteran Vincent Irizarry… who has been in soap biz since 1983 when he starred on the now defunct CBS soap, “Guiding Light” as Brandon/Lujack Spaulding. Irizarry’s acting career is long and distinguished… appearing on such shows as ABC’s “All My Children” where he was cast in the role he originated of Dr. David Hayward in 1997, and he also did a stint on ABC’s “One Life to Live” in 2005 where he reprised the role of Dr. David Hayward for three episodes. His soap credits also include “Santa Barbara” as Scott Clark… from 1987 until 1989.
But now he takes on a new challenge in the role of Deimos (no last name as yet), and is connected to the Kiriakis family… but how, and through whom? What will this stranger’s sudden appearance in Salem mean for the grieving Hope Brady [Kristian Alfonso]? Does he have anything to do with the late Bo Brady [Peter Reckell] tragic end?
Be sure to stay tuned as Irizarry is slated to have his first appearance this week!
