After years in captivity, Bo (Peter Reckell) managed to make it back to Salem. Bo fought off Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) in an epic showdown and eventually won Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) heart once again. Unfortunately, their reunion was short-lived. Bo was diagnosed with a brain tumor and died in Hope’s arms. Still, they shared some sweet moments and gave “Bope” fans the closure they were looking for.
Steve (Stephen Nichols) had to give Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) a little time to wrap her head around the fact that he was back in her life. However, Steve gradually convinced Kayla to let her guard down and they’ve been bonding ever since. Their rekindled passion was exactly what “Stayla” shippers had in mind.
Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Kate Mansi) technically weren’t a full-fledged couple for most of 2015, but they developed quite a fan base anyway. The slow buildup and endless angst made for some of the soapiest drama we saw all year. Their hot hookup in the DiMera garden was certainly memorable! Many “Days of Our Lives” fans suspect that Chad is the true father of Abigail’s baby, which means these star-crossed lovers could be connected indefinitely.
John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) had drifted apart, but 2015 pulled them back together. It took some wooing on John’s part, but “Doc” decided to give John another chance. The pair enjoyed a trip down memory lane earlier this year and John even ditched several ISA missions to spend more time with his lady. It ultimately cost John his job, but that’s a small price to pay for love.
This couple is somewhat polarizing, but there are plenty of “Thrady” fans out there. That’s a credit to Eric Martsolf andJen Lilley’s easy onscreen chemistry. Now that Brady has given up his position at Titan Industries, he’s focusing all his attention on Theresa and their son. Watching this family grow closer has been enough to give “Days” viewers the warm fuzzies.
Daniel (Shawn Christian) and Nicole (Arianna Zucker) are another love-it-or-hate-it pairing, but some staunch supporters adore their kind and accepting relationship. Nicole and Daniel have been preparing for their upcoming wedding, but they probably shouldn’t make any honeymoon plans. Daniel’s last scenes are rapidly approaching and Nicole will be left all alone. At least the pair got to bask in their happy glow for most of this year!
Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) were MIA for a while, but DOOL’s 50th anniversary brought them back to center stage. In addition to their onscreen romance, this couple happens to be married in real life. Soap chemistry doesn’t get any more believable than that!
JJ (Casey Moss) and Gabi (Camila Banus) are a new pairing, but “Days of Our Lives” fans have latched on fast. They just have that “it” factor. Of course, Gabi and JJ are still trying to figure out exactly what they want this relationship to be. They’ll likely keep things casual for now, but DOOL viewers will be waiting to see if it might turn into something more serious.
Victor (John Aniston) and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) have been married since 2011 the two were married in a quiet ceremony at the Kiriakis estate.
