The soap ratings for the week of September 21-25 are in; “General Hospital,” “Bold and the Beautiful,” and “Young and the Restless” had a bad week, according to Soap Opera Network. “Days of Our Lives” experienced a great week. “Y&R” and “GH” suffered HUGE loss of viewers in almost every demo. With the lack of fan support, it is easy to see why the ratings have declined so rapidly.
Young and the Restless
“Young and the Restless” has hit a rough patch the past few weeks and this week was not any different. The total viewership decreased by 115K this week. In the key demo of women 18-49, they lost almost 30K viewers. The show still maintained a daily viewership of over four million people- but many think the show is a sinking ship. Their ratings were so bad this week, they tied for the worst ratings of the week. “Y&R” has struggled to maintain their fan base for a while; however, it has never been this low. Experienced soap fans worry that this soap is slowly declined and could face cancelation in the next couple years.

General Hospital
“General Hospital” had the worst week of all the soaps when you look at it individually. They lost 142K total viewers this week. In the key demo of women 18-49, the show lost over 40K this week. The total viewers each day clocked in at over two million per day. Diehard fans are upset about how long the Jason Morgan (Biller Miller) reveal is taking. Many fans feel it should have been revealed much easier than November sweeps.
Bold and the Beautiful
“B&B” had a terrible week last week. The show lost a shocking 96K viewers in one week. Not only that but the key demo lost almost 70K as well. They had a total viewership of over three million per day, but clearly the soap took a hit this week. Many fans stated it was because the way the show dragged out the storylines.

Days of Our Lives
“Days” had a terrific week. They were the star of the ratings this week. They gained 25K total viewers this week. And that’s not all; they increased their key demo by 5K. They had over two million people tuning in each day to see what happens in the town of Salem. Rating experts had said last week that “Days” ratings were on the rise, and they would really start to see an improvement.
