Weekly Soap Ratings October 12-October 16: DOOL, Y&R, Great Week – GH and B&B DeclineThe daytime ratings are in for the week of October 12-16, according to Soap Opera Network. “The Young and the Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” had a great week, when “General Hospital” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” had a decline in views.

The Young and the Restless

“The Young and the Restless” had a decent week with an average of almost five million viewers tuning in each day. They had an increase of 136,000 total viewers, an increase of 216,000 from last year. If that’s not exciting enough, “Y&R” scored HUGE in the key demos with an increase of 31,000 in the women 18-49 and 21,000 in women 18-34.

Days of Our Lives

“Days of Our Lives” scored another great week, with a total viewer increase of 175,000, and 50,000 from last year. It is huge for “Days” because it is the highest amount of viewers since March of 2014. If fans were hoping to save the soap from cancellation in 2016, ratings like this will halt those plans fast. In the key demo of women 18-49, they increased the viewership by 42,000, but it was a decrease from last year by 63,000. Each day, there were nearly three million fans tuned in to see what would happen next in Salem.

General Hospital

“General Hospital” has had a few disappointing weeks as fans wait for Jason Morgan’s [Billy Miller] reveal. The ratings definitely reflect that. The total viewers increased by 7,000 this week; however, it was a decrease of 210,000 from last year. “GH” lost big time in the key demo of women 18-49- losing 37,000 viewers from the previous week and 144,000 from last year. Each day, there were nearly two and half million fans tuned in to see what happened next in Port Charles.

The Bold and the Beautiful

“The Bold and the Beautiful” had a terrible week, which is not too surprising considering how upset fans are about the awful storylines. “B&B” lost 59,000 total viewers this week; however, it was an increase of 22,000 from last year. In the key demo of women 18-49, the show had an increase of 21,000, but a decrease from last year of 79,000. Every day, nearly four million fans tuned in each day to see the drama that happened at Forrester Creations.
