I honestly think Joe is the one setting up Cane. I also think that Adam will be found not guilty. The driver that killed poor Delia was the real Gabe Bingham.

I don’t believe Adam will be convicted either. I believe Adam’s straightforward account of events during his testimony was probably convincing to any sensible juror. Adam didn’t knowingly and selfishly flee the area because he didn’t want to be held responsible for what happened. The sad truth was that he wasn’t aware at all of anything amiss, and even got out of the vehicle to look around. Albeit, it was only a cursory glance to ascertain whether he’d hit the dog – which he assumed was the “shadow” he saw and tried to swerve around. He didn’t feel any other impact and, therefore, believed there was nothing untoward to address. How can a person commit the crime of Hit and Run vehicular homicide if there was no knowledge that one was responsible for it? There can’t be. If a victim isn’t seen at the site of an incident, how can the party responsible who isn’t aware that anyone was hit and injured render aid or call emergency medical assistance or the police? It’s simply not possible.

Billy’s testimony about his own responsibility for Delia being anywhere near the road with her dog was pretty compelling and it may cause the jury to consider whether justice is better served by trying to mete out a decision that isn’t over conflated in the context of what actually transpired and how both men have dealt with the guilt and grief in the aftermath.

And NOPE. I don’t believe Pratt & Co. ever plan to have the accident be the responsibility of anyone other than Adam. They could have done. There was certainly enough wiggle room for that, but I’ve seen absolutely nothing that would warrant believing otherwise. Maybe JH is leaving to go to jail. Or not. Maybe they’ll come up with another perp down the road, but I’m just not seeing this as something in the cards.
