‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) Interview: Joshua Morrow Teases Upcoming Scenes With Adam Newman And November Sweeps Details

“The Young and the Restless” fan favorite Joshua Morrow sat down with Michael Fairman to talk about Adam Newman being alive, Nick’s relationship with Victor (Eric Braeden), his internal struggle about Sage (Kelly Sullivan) and the new baby, and the realization that Newman’s stick together no matter what. Joshua noted that the next two months were action-packed, with material that could be the best the show has ever made.

He opened by saying that he was pleased with how well Justin Hartley portrayed Adam Newman. He said, “Justin Hartley has done an amazing job as Adam.” Adam’s reveal not only outed Gabriel as Adam Newman but put Sage in the hot seat. Her connection to Adam was made crystal clear, and it led to her premature labor and delivery of Christian Newman. Joshua noted that the baby’s questionable paternity would be a topic that is addressed in the next few months.

Deep down, Nick wants to believe that the baby is his child. He has worried about Sage and the newborn for months. He supported her throughout her pregnancy and even made it official by marrying her. Even though he wants to believe that the baby is his, in tiny voice inside his head is causing him to doubt it. Joshua noted that being a doofus is one of Nick’s main personality traits.

Joshua explains that he loves how the show is exploring Nick wanting to find his own path in life away from his father. When the Newman’s face a turbulent time, they band together to face the obstacle head on. Nick crossed the line when he told Victor, “Adam doesn’t deserve the last name, Newman.” Nick may not want Adam around, but he is Victor’s son- he loves him.

Joshua said in a joking way, “I have always said that one of the most unsafe jobs in daytime TV is to be one of my kids. You just never know what will happen to you- but you will see. Fans should continue to check it out- it is a great story with many twists and turns along the way. We are shooting stuff NOW that will knock your socks off.”

He noted that working with Kelly Sullivan is a great experience. He said she’s professional and grateful and has a great sense of humor. He said she will be shown a lot in the coming weeks, as November sweeps will conclude the Adam reveal fall out. “She is doing stuff in the next couple weeks that has not aired that is just insane. The fans will get a healthy dose of Kelly Sullivan, and I guarantee they will love it, “Morrow said.
