‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) RUMOR: Jeffrey Christopher Todd Headed To Genoa City As Scotty Grainger Jr?

Jeffrey Christopher Todd is rumored to be making his way back to “Young and the Restless” in the next few months. Apparently, the good-looking young actor may be going from lab geek to handsome Scotty Grainger Jr. That’s right “Y&R” fans, it looks like Scotty may be making his way back to Genoa City to see his mom, Lauren (Tracey Bregman). Scotty has been away a long time, and many fans have asked the show to bring him back. Throughout Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) cancer scare, he never called nor came to town. His absence upset many “Y&R” fans, leading to the fans calling for Scotty’s return to the CBS hit daytime drama.

Scotty hasn’t been seen in Genoa City since 2005, when he was thrown into a storyline with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Tom Fisher (Roscoe Born), and John Abbott (Jerry Douglas). Lauren and Michael abruptly decided to marry; he wanted to make sure that Scotty, her son she barely mentioned could attend the ceremony. Lauren wasn’t sure if she wanted him to attend, leading Michael to believe that Lauren was hiding something about Scotty or her past from him. . Later, Michael found out that Sheila had tried to kidnap Scotty and repeatedly tried to kill Lauren. In 2006, Scotty left Genoa to return to Toronto- only to be mentioned occasionally.

Fans have called for his return and until recently the show had not responded. It looks like Scotty’s fans are responding and calling for Jeffrey to return as Lauren’s adult son. One fan tweeted that if another cast member can go from a priest to the sexy prince- why can’t Jeffrey go from nerd to Scotty Grainger? Fans, would you like to see Jeffrey Christopher Todd in the role of Scotty Grainger?

The network has not released an official casting call or statement confirming or denying Scotty Grainger’s return to the soap opera. The fact is, many fans felt he should have returned during Fenmore Baldwin’s (Max Ehrich) drug abuse and Michael’s cancer storylines. Maybe, Lauren and Michael can renew their vows, and Scotty can come for a short visit?
