‘The Young And The Restless’ Poll: Who Is Your Favorite Crazy ‘Y&R’ Therapist Over The Years?

Before Dr. Anderson [Elizabeth Bogush] came to Genoa City, there were plenty of other crazy therapists on the CBS daytime drama. It seems like every couple of years, a new level of craziness arrives in Genoa City, ready and willing to unleash their dose of nuttiness to the residents of Genoa City! Let’s examine “The Young and the Restless” three most memorable shrinks to come on canvas.

Dr. Anderson

Dr. Anderson[Y&R] is the latest crazy person in daytime TV. She came up with a scam to steal Sage Warner’s [Kelly Sullivan] baby from her to give to Sharon Newman [Sharon Case]. In order to pull off the fraud, she convinced Sage her baby died and made Sharon believe [falsely] that she was expecting. The woman was such a whack; she had Patty Williams [Stacy Haiduk] ready to expose her.

Dr. Emily Peterson

Emily Peterson [Stacy Haiduk] was a good character that lost her mind after Patty stole her identity. Patty Williams at the time was obsessed with Jack Abbott [Peter Bergman], and would do whatever it takes to force him to love her. Even if that meant, she needed to have plastic surgery to look like his fiancée.   In the end, Emily exposed Patty for the swindle, and she sent away to a mental hospital [again].

Dr. Tim Reid

Tim Reid [Aaron Lustig] was a crazy and unethical shrink. Danny Romalotti [Michael Damian] and Phyllis saw Tim Reid as a marriage therapist to repair their marriage. When Phyllis realized the marriage was doomed no matter what she did, she used Tim as a toy to get under Danny’s skin. She slept with Tim to get back at Danny.

In 2012, he returned briefly after Ricky Williams [Peter Porte] contacted him about any information about Phyllis. Tim refused to say anything to him and said he would rather handle a rattlesnake. He told Ricky, “Phyllis ruined my life!” Ricky read Phyllis psych records, and was amused that Tim Reid described her as ‘delusional, intelligent, and self-serving.’ Just a few months later, Tim Reid died in a suspicious way. Phyllis was, of course, the prime suspect of his murder.
