‘The Young and The Restless’ News: Scott Elrod Got Engaged To Vanessa Vazart On Christmas Day

“The Young and the Restless” alum, Scott Elrod announced via Instagram on Christmas Day that he was engaged. That is right, ladies—Scott Elrod is marrying Vanessa Vazart. The engagement announcement comes in days after he announced that Vanessa was expecting a baby, the actor’s first child.

Scott Elrod announced last week that Vanessa was pregnant with his first child. He posted his cute text message with his mother, in which she was ecstatic about becoming a grandmother. Scott Elrod took to social media again to announce and post a selfie right after Vanessa agreed to become Mrs. Scott Elrod.

Scott posted to Instagram, “Merry Christmas everyone. She said YES!! Thanks for the matching onesies #propsedintheonesie #easiertogetononekneeinthisthing #imhitched #squadgoals #dontmindthedeer #pg13.” Scott and Vanessa were dressed in matching hooded onesies with a deer design, and zipper in the front.

Two weeks ago, Soap Opera Digest revealed that Scott Elrod was out as Joe Clark on “The Young and the Restless.” It did not come as a HUGE surprise, exactly. The writers seemed clueless on how to implement him into the show. Scott is incredibly talented and deserved a much better storyline than they gave him.

Scott joined the cast on ABC “Grey’s Anatomy” as a military doctor named Dr. Thorpe. At the moment, Scott Elrod is not revealing if the role is a contract, or if it was a one-time appearance. It is a huge step in the right direction, especially after his departure from the CBS soap opera.
