‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Peter Bergman Named Star Of The Week For ‘Y&R’ Performance

The Young and the Restless” Peter Bergman [Jack Abbott] earned Soap Opera Spy’s pick for the star of the week. Peter is a believable hero, villain, and family man. He turned up the drama last week when he swore that the Abbotts would bring Victor Newman [Eric Braeden] to justice.

The week started with Jack learning that his younger brother Billy [Burgess Jenkins] was responsible for re-launching the Paragon virus after Adam [Justin Hartley] began his prison sentence. Billy admitted his plan was to frame Adam for the Paragon virus [again] so Victor would think Adam was attacking Newman Enterprises inside the walls of the prison. The plan backfired when his family discovered his scam—outing him to the enemy, Victor.

Jack delivered an emotional scene when he told his brother that he was the problem within the Abbotts. He swore him off stating he compromised their father’s legacy, and he won’t forget this. Ashley tried to lighten the mood by assuring Billy that Jack was just angry. Jack piped up stating that he IS furious, but his feeling will NOT change—he is done with Billy Abbott.

With Billy exposed, Ashley [Eileen Davidson] and Jack hoped that Victor would back off from suing Jabot for $500 million. Instead, it just fueled Victor’s drive to see the Abbotts’ pay for Billy’s mistakes. Jack tried to get Victor to see that Billy will not be allowed to make any corporate decisions with the company anymore—Victor was not impressed and told Jack to pony up.

It was that moment that prompted Jack to take serious action against Victor. Jack brought in Michael Baldwin [Christian LeBlanc] to represent him, in case he was held accountable for Kelly Andrew’s [Cady McClain] death and the boat explosion that almost cost him his life. Jack had a plan—he was going to expose Victor for all his crimes—including hiring Marco Annicelli [Peter Bergman] to impersonate him for months.

Jack delivered an amazing performance in each one of this performance. He made you want to see Victor pay for his crimes—and made us believe that Victor MAY be held accountable. Whether you think Jack will follow through or not; one has to admit that it takes gumption to issue a threat like this to the Mustache. Don’t forget to come back next week to find out who SOS picked for the star of the week!
