“The Young and the Restless” megastar, Justin Hartley will co-star in an NBC Dramedy pilot in the coming months. The unnamed project centers around a group of people that share the same birthday. Hartley is a front and center actor on the CBS soap opera if the pilot does well- will he be able to do both “Y&R” and the unnamed NBC pilot?
The Hollywood Reporter posted that Justin Harley, Mandy Moore, and Milo Ventimiglia will co-star in an NBC drama pilot. In the pilot, the characters have one thing in common- they share a birthday. The NBC untitled production centers around a group of people that share the same birthday. Rebecca [Mandy Moore] and Jack [Milo Ventimiglia] are a happily married couple expecting triplets.
Kevin [Justin Hartley] is a charming success television actor who is quickly growing bored with the bachelor lifestyle. Sterling Brown was cast as a family man named Randall, who is busy raising two young daughters with his pretty wife, Beth. Ron Cephas Jones was cast as Randall’s father- who abandoned him at birth. The pilot was in a bidding war and officially landed in NBC.
Dan Fogelman will be the head scribe and executive producer of the show. Jess Rosenthal, Charlie Gogolak, John Requa, and Glenn Ficarra will direct the pilot. NBC has plans to hire a casting director in the next few weeks, and begin filming before the end of 2015.
“The Young and the Restless” fans are anxious about what it could mean for fan favorite, Justin Hartley. If the pilot is a smashing success, does that mean the handsome actor will leave daytime TV for a prime time role? There have been rumors that Justin was being considered for the CBS reboot of “MacGyver” as well.
CBS did not confirm if he was being considered for the role. The announcement did make fans feel a little uneasy about the future of Adam Newman on “The Young and the Restless.” Do you think Justin Hartley would leave “The Young and the Restless” if a better role presented itself? Will you watch his NBC pilot drama?

I hop we don’t lose this Adam, Justin’s killing the part, we can’t adjust to yet another Adam. On the other hand, I’d never want to hold him back…..guess we just wait and see.
