‘The Young and the Restless” actress Kate Linder who plays Esther Valentine on the popular Daytime Soap is celebrating a birthday today. (November 2, 2015) In celebration of her birthday we decided to compose 10 things you need to know about Kate.

1. Kate was born November 2, 1947 and she is Scorpio.
2. In 1991, Kate was held at knifepoint in her own home by a burglar.
3. Kate is the celebrity spokesperson for the ALS Association.  She accepted the honor following the diagnosis of her late brother-in-law.
4. Kate graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in theater arts.
5. In 2008 Kate received a Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
6. Kate graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in theater arts.
7. Kate  continued to work as a United Airlines flight attendant during her entire 30-plus-year tenure on “The Young and the Restless.”
8. Linder has had roles in the feature films Hysteria (2012), Erased (2013), and Miss Meadows (2014) starring Katie Holmes as a teacher with Kate as Trudy Navis, the school’s principal.
9. Kate’s father was a CPA and her mother, a homemaker and dedicated tennis player.  She has a brother Randy.
10. When Kate finished high school, she’d appeared in major singing and dancing roles in “Promises, Promises,” “Three Penny Opera,” “L’il Abner,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and many others.
