The life and death struggle of Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] gives Port Charles’ residents some food for thought. First, Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] and Nathan West [Ryan Paevey] talk about the danger in Sonny’s life and how much Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] loves him anyway. Kind of the same deal with being a cop’s WAG. Maxie and Nathan realize life is fleeting and take advantage of what they have now.
Sonny’s shooting incident also has Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco] and Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] thinking. Sonny would be dead now if not for the swift actions of Jake Doe [Billy Miller] and that reminds both Sam and Ric of Jason. But will they both assume that Jake is just “Jason-like” or start to think maybe he is Jason. Doesn’t anyone recognize the voice?
Sam finds someone at her old place lurking around – is it Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] looking for a place to stay since Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford] kicked him out and kept all the money? To be fair, it was Nina’s money to start with but it looks like Ric might need a place to stay and Sam can’t be happy to find him there. Her mystery visitor could be someone else, but Ric seems like the obvi choice.
Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst] is concerned about Sonny’s shooting only to the extent that is could affect her life with Jake. Liz is on the cusp (yet again) of telling Jake the truth about who he is but just can’t give him up. Now her boys are deeply attached to Jake and she can’t risk breaking apart her family so she tells him something else bad she did to Sam to cover for her teary outburst. No truth yet.
Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] asks Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] about reverting to “dad” when he talks about Sonny. He wants to know if Michael has forgiven Sonny. Michael explains that he’s still working through it, but anything is forgivable where there’s love. Anything? Maybe Dante can tell Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan] about the cheating with a passionate mea culpa.

Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] has no mind for forgiveness and is solely focused on avenging his father’s death – he assumes Sonny is going to die – so that’s where his addled mind has taken him. Morgan is certain Julian Jerome [William deVry] is responsible and gestates violent revenge schemes. Michael can’t get Morgan to calm down and focus on the family.
Patrick Drake [Jason Thompson] pulls Sonny out of the code blue crash and revives him but then tells the family it’s now or never on the surgery and Sonny will die without it. Carly must decide whether to put Sonny through surgery that could leave him unable to walk or let him die. Carly and the boys talk and decide that even though Sonny wouldn’t like it, they will gamble on the surgery to keep him alive.
Morgan rails at his mother and brothers and makes things even harder on them at the hospital. And, if Morgan keeps on the course he’s going, Sonny may not be the only Corinthos in danger. Morgan is making increasingly bad choices and growing increasingly more violent and this is all coming to a head at the worst possible time for the Corinthos clan.
