‘General Hospital’ (GH) RUMORS: Will Dante Self-Destruct After Break-Up From Lulu Amidst Cheating Scandal?

The countdown to the blowup of the Falconeri marriage is on – this ‘General Hospital’ spoiler looks at how Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] could go dark and dangerous when Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan] cuts him loose. On Thursday’s episode, Dillon Quartermaine [Robert Palmer Watkins] hit back hard at Dante after Dante told him to stay away from Lulu. Dillon revealed that he knows that Dante slept with Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi] and isn’t going to take any crap from him over her.

Dillon said he wasn’t going to tell Lulu now – but made it clear he’s ready and waiting for Dante to slip up. Thing is, Dante has already slipped up. The question is not whether Lulu will find out about Dante and Valerie cheating, but when she will find out and how. There are two possibilities. One is that Dillon will get fed up with Dante, want another shot with Lulu, and will just tell her. But that could backfire on Dillon and she might want to kill the messenger (or at least not get romantically involved with him).

The second – and more interesting option – is that Lulu will see the behind the scenes footage shot by Dillon’s intern that shows Dillon and Valerie discussing the one night stand. This won’t work out well for either Dante or Dillon, though, because Lulu will be angry that neither told her. It’s inevitable that Lulu will find out about Val and Dante (but thankfully the new showrunners dropped the Valerie pregnancy story arc that Ron Carlivati had begun), but the question is, what then?

Lulu will be furious that Dante has been lying to her for so long and she will either kick him out or will pack her things and head to either Wyndemere or Carly Corinthos’ [Laura Wright] house and take Rocco along. But will Lulu already be implanted with their embryo at this point? Dante won’t take the split well and, if Lulu is pregnant, he may take it much, much harder – so hard, in fact, that Dante may go dark. Really dark. Like Corinthos dark.

What would that look like? Dante is already on the skids with his boss Vinessa Antoine [Jordan Ashford] and if he starts acting out at work because of Lulu leaving him, he could find himself out of a job at the PCPD. Vinessa’s annoyance with Dante’s affair with Val plus Paul Hornsby’s [Richard Burgi] intentions to take down the Corinthos syndicate could see Dante’s life as a cop end – at least for now – which could send him to working security for the Corinthos cartel.

Dante already has the propensity to be a dark personality when he’s angry – that’s how he ended up in bed with Valerie – he was drinking and ranting about Lulu, then slept with Val. With something much more onerous like the break-up of his marriage motivating him, there’s no telling what Dante is capable of – after all, he does have the Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) genes that could lead him to be dangerous when he goes off the rails.

Imagine if Lulu then took up with Dillon how bad Dante could get… How dark Dante goes will hinge on a couple of different factors – whether Lulu is pregnant when she leaves him, whether she cuts off or limits access to Rocco, whether she starts seeing Dillon after they split, and whether Lulu gives him any indication that there’s hope for a future together for them. The new writers have indicated that Lulu and Dante will ultimately end up together, but there’s a long and painful path coming for them.
