‘Days Of Our Lives’ Poll: Who Will Die In The DOOL August 2015 Murder Mystery?

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers indicate that new head writers Josh Griffith and Dena Higley are set to make a splash with their first big plot lines – and that splash will be blood red for murder! We’ve seen the Salem Strangler, the Salem Slasher, Riverfront Slasher and most recently, but still a decade ago, was the Salem Stalker aka Marlena Evans [Deidre Hall].

The new murder mystery will launch in late August and will culminate in November sweeps with at least three major characters slated to be killed off – and some may be characters returning for the 50th anniversary special. What a bummer to get one of your favorite characters back only to see them killed off for good. November 8th is the show’s anniversary and the reveal starts from there.

Some of the characters coming back for the anniversary that may get the ax – literally – include:

Sami Brady [Alison Sweeney]
Steve ‘Patch’ Johnson [Stephen Nichols]
Gabi Hernandez [Camila Banus]
Andre DiMera [Thaao Penghlis]
Shawn Brady [Jason Cook]

Belle Black [Martha Madison]

Days showrunners told Entertainment Weekly, “In late August, an elaborate murder mystery plot kicks off that will see several of Salem’s residents and perhaps even some of the town’s former, fan-favorite residents meeting their demise.”

So who will be the first to die?

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers indicate that Serena Mason [Melissa Archer] and Xander Cooke [Paul Telfer] are the likely candidates for the first to fall victim to the latest serial killer. But other characters rumored to fall prey to the latest Salem sociopath include Aiden Jennings [Daniel Cosgrove], Daniel Jonas [Shawn Christian], Sonny Kiriakis [Freddie Smith], Clyde Weston [James Read] and Paige Larson [True O’Brien].

Serial killer storylines can be very upsetting to fans because of the loss of beloved characters, but for increasingly budget-conscious producers, it’s a perfect way to trim the cast and save money. So the question is, how many of Salem’s most-loved will be offed between late August and the big reveal during the week of November 9th through 13th?

Who do you hope will fall prey to the serial killer? Are there any characters you’re hoping will be part of the slaughter? Any ideas on who could be the new killer? It’s important to remember that the killer will also likely be someone who is to be taken off the show as well. There are generally three routes for a killer on a soap: death, indefinite incarceration in a prison or mental institution, or a reveal that they were somehow brainwashed/evil twin/temporarily insane.
