“Days of Our Lives” got off to a slow start in 2015, but it quickly became one for the history books. This year has brought triumphant returns, heartbreaking losses and jaw-dropping drama. We thought there were 20 scenes that stood out above the rest. Here are our picks for the best moments of 2015:
Jennifer Discovers Eve and JJ in Bed
When Paige (True O’Brien) found out about JJ’s (Casey Moss) affair with Eve (Kassie DePaiva), it was pretty entertaining. However, we’d already seen the reveal we were all waiting for. Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) caught JJ in bed with her nemesis and her head nearly exploded.
Kristen Plummets to Her Death
Marlena (Deidre Hall) showed up at the DiMeras’ castle in Italy and was stunned to see Kristen (Eileen Davidson). Of course, the real surprise came when a struggle led to Kristen crashing through a window and plummeting to her death. Well, at least that’s what Kristen wants everyone to think.
Chad and Abigail’s Forbidden Love
Abigail (Kate Mansi) gave into temptation and enjoyed an all-night encounter with Chad (Billy Flynn). They made in love in the DiMera garden before Chad carried Abigail upstairs for more. Their torrid affair had “Chabby” shippers swooning!
Eric and Nicole Heat Things Up
Thanks to the deliciously evil Xander (Paul Telfer), Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) were trapped near a furnace at the news station. The result was an “Ericole” fan’s dream. These exes stripped, locked lips and professed their love. Unfortunately, Nicole’s fiery feelings cooled off once the heat died down.
Arianna Chats with Chad
Chad had plenty of great moments opposite Abigail this year, but one of his most memorable scenes was with a much younger co-star. Little Arianna (Harper and Sydney Udell) stole the show when she engaged in a touching conversation about Chad’s deceased daughter, Grace. It was quite possibly the sweetest moment “Days” aired this year.
Eve Mourns for Paige
Eve learned Paige had been murdered and nearly had a breakdown. The haunting scene of Eve alone in her apartment will stick with “Days of Our Lives” viewers indefinitely. It will be a huge snub if Kassie DePaiva doesn’t get an Emmy nomination for her gripping portrayal of a grieving mother.
Gabi Is Released from Prison
Gabi’s (Camila Banus) prison sentence was reduced thanks to an appeal filed by Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove). You could almost feel the joy through the screen as Gabi reunited with her family. It’s been nice to see Gabi back in Salem where she belongs.
Marlena Is Attacked
Marlena was blindsided when a masked intruder slipped in her office and tried to strangle her. DOOL watchers held their breath as Marlena fought to get free. Her attacker probably would’ve finished her off if it weren’t for Chad strutting around the corner.
Ben Revealed as the Necktie Killer
In one of the year’s most shocking moments, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) was revealed as the man behind Salem’s latest string of murders. “Days of Our Lives” fans watched as Ben gathered up the evidence and tossed it down by the docks. Since then, viewers have praised Robert Scott Wilson for his fantastic portrayal of a man sinking deeper into insanity.
Will Gets Murdered
Although this moment was somewhat difficult to watch, the scene was expertly choreographed and showed just how far Ben would go. Watching Will (Guy Wilson) plead for his life was tear-jerking, but it undoubtedly had DOOL watchers glued to their screens.
Lucas Reacts to Will’s Death
Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) tugged at nearly everyone’s heartstrings when he found out his son was gone. As Lucas cried for his boy, we cried right along with him. Will’s death hit Lucas hard and it made the loss even more profound for “Days of Our Lives” viewers.
Ben Beats Chad to a Pulp
Ben and Chad’s brawl was hardcore! Chad put up a good fight, but he was no match for rage-filled Ben. Chad was left in a coma by the time Ben was through with him.
Sami Tries to Smother Chad
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for comatose and wrongfully accused Chad, Sami (Alison Sweeney) decided to avenge Will’s death by smothering him with a pillow. It’s a good thing Marlena arrived to talk some sense into her daughter!
Andre’s Pub Shocker
Eyes widened and punches flew when Andre (Thaao Penghlis) revealed himself to the Bradys at their pub gathering. Andre was delighted to fill them in on his return from the “dead” and the fact that he couldn’t be prosecuted for any of his previous crimes.
Salem’s Bicentennial Celebration
Salem’s bicentennial celebration was a swanky shindig and “Days” fans dug the groovy vibe of the 1960s. It was a terrific way to honor DOOL’s 50th anniversary. The bash was capped off perfectly with fireworks and a round of kisses.
Aiden’s Strangling Attempt/Bo Showdown
Aiden meticulously plotted to strangle Hope (Kristian Alfonso) for her insurance money and pin it on the necktie killer. Watching Hope’s reaction to the mayhem was riveting on its own. However, Bo’s (Peter Reckell) epic battle with Aiden had viewers on the edge of their seats. By the time it was all over, Aiden was dead and Hope was left in utter shock.
Bo’s Death
If you remember one scene from this year, it will probably be Bo dying in Hope’s arms. It was a crushing moment for many “Bope” fans, but it was a fitting end for this supercouple. Bo’s return and demise gave viewers the closure they needed.
Steve and Kayla’s Supply Closet Romance
When Joey (James Lastovic) trapped Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) in a supply closet, the chemicals started going to their heads. When you added in their growing passion, it caused a strong (and highly amusing) reaction.
Hope’s Revenge Mission
Bo’s death brought out a different side of Hope and it’s been a pleasure to watch it unfold. Hope went ballistic on Dr. Malcolm (Adam Leadbeater) and it prompted Roman (Josh Taylor) to suspend her from the police force. Hope continued her quest for answers on her own by torturing the shady doc in a warehouse.
Ben Sets Cabin on Fire
When Chad showed up in Mammoth Falls to rescue Abigail, Ben decided to send them out in a blaze of glory by setting the cabin on fire. Chad managed to pull Abigail out of the flames in the nick of time and we loved every heroic minute of the action.

My favorite scene is when Abby shows up at the hospital after her baby went missing and she turns around and Chad is just standing their with her baby.
None of the above. I think the best scenes where between Bo and Steve. Especially, in the garden when Bo was dying. Raw and real emotions acted out magnificently.
It should be Lucas & Sami’s reaction to the news of Will’s death but Lucas’ was a bit better, he really deserves an Emmy for his performance this past year!
