‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘General Hospital’ Casting News: Wally Kurth Signs Contract with DOOL, Leaves GH Behind

The latest “Days of Our Lives” news indicates that fans of Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) are in luck. Unfortunately, that means fans of Ned Ashton (also Wally Kurth) on GH are going to be disappointed. It seems Wally Kurth’s soap hopping days are over for now. Kurth recently sent out a tweet confirming that he signed a contract with DOOL and that means he’ll soon exit the role of Ned on “General Hospital.” Kurth added that “it’s bittersweet,” but he “can’t do both.”

While Kurth will certainly be missed on “General Hospital,” at least he’ll have the opportunity to explore more storylines as Justin on “Days.” Because Kurth usually did short stints, the writers were somewhat limited in what material they could give him. Now it looks like Kurth will have a chance to flex his acting chops with a more complicated plot. DOOL viewers know that Justin and Adrienne (Judi Evans) are in the midst of a marriage crisis thanks to Justin’s extended business trip and apparent affair in Dubai.

Dena Higley, who just took over as one of the new head writers on “Days of Our Lives,” recently tweeted that she was excited about the chance to delve deeper into the pair’s complex love story. Of course, now that Adrienne has a budding romance with Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), it looks like Justin will return as part of a love triangle. It should be interesting to see how Justin responds to the news of their affair. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers tease that things may get worse for the couple before they get better. The rumors say that there could be more to Justin’s affair than he lets on. It’s possible that Adrienne may have made a few wrong assumptions. Whatever the case, it should be good to have Wally Kurth back on hand as Justin so he can fight for Adrienne’s love. Ultimately, GH’s loss is DOOL’s gain.
