Despite all of the insane storylines on ‘GH,’ ‘DOOL,’ and ‘Y&R’ – according to TV Insider, ‘B&B‘ was the best soap opera of 2015, for a very good reason. The CBS soap opera went somewhere that not too many daytime dramas would dare – and had the first transgender love story starring Karla Mosley as Maya Avant and Rick Forrester (Jacob Young).
TV Insider’s Michael Logan praised ‘B&B’ and raved “Long delinquent when it comes to diversity, this CBS soap made fast and massive strides in 2015 by revealing that gorgeous African-American fashion model Maya Avant (star of the year Karla Mosley) was born male and introducing us to her vibrant, marvelously messy family.” The soap opera did a beautiful job depicting Maya’s family’s positive and negative reactions to her transformation – and of course brought some compelling drama when her love interest Rick Forrester learned the truth about her previous persona.

TV Insider also named Eric Braeden the “Best Soap Actor” and Finola Hughes the “Best Soap Actress.” You can check out his full “Best And Worst” list at TV Insider.
